The Punta Begoña Galleries, designed by the renowned architect Ricardo Bastida in 1918 at the request of magnate Horacio Echevarrieta, are a 20th-century architectural gem in Bizkaia.
More than just a retaining wall after a rockslide, this iconic space was conceived as a place to admire the landscape, overlooking the iron mines, the Bilbao estuary, and the rise of the bourgeoisie that transformed Getxo into a European hub of seaside leisure.
